I just brought home a half pint of delicious-looking blackberries from our local farmer's market. I got half-way through a bowl of berries before I noticed a dark wormy/grubby looking fellow creeping around on one of the berries. I'm now a little...unnerved. I just came across a nearly full carton of chai tea mix (to be mixed with milk) in my mother's fridge. The carton says to enjoy by November 24, 2010. Normally I don't throw out food based on the suggested use-by date, I use it until my nose- or common sense- tells me it's bad. Due to compromised health I've had to start being very careful of what I eat and how I prepare my food. I have been advised against cooking in teflon coated cookware. Right now I'm trying to replace my rusty oven tray and I have only come across teflon coated pans and tinned steel pans. I don't know much about tin but suspect it is easily ( Read more... )
